Role description:
We’re looking for a confident, technically strong Senior Risk Manager to join our Mobility business, with the ability to influence, guide, and add value across high-profile projects and programmes, including those in the rail, highway, and aviation sectors.
In this leadership-focused role, you’ll provide expert risk management services that support client decision-making, improve delivery certainty, and drive innovation. You’ll also support the growth of our internal risk capability through quality assurance, service development, and mentoring.
Role accountabilities:
- Lead delivery of end-to-end risk management services for major infrastructure programmes, ensuring alignment with client governance, delivery frameworks, and strategic objectives.
- Implement and embed effective risk management practices, reducing uncertainty and enhancing performance across complex portfolios.
- Facilitate risk workshops and reviews with multidisciplinary teams to identify, assess, and manage risk proactively.
- Develop and deliver Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRA)—including cost, schedule, or integrated models—using tools such as @Risk, Safran Risk, and Primavera Risk Analysis.
- Produce periodic and ad hoc risk reports that summarise key insights, exposures, contingency forecasts, and risk response effectiveness.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing support to the Service Capability Leader for Risk Management in service development, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Champion a culture of risk awareness, coaching and mentoring project teams and junior consultants on tools, techniques, and strategic application of risk principles.
- Support business development, including contribution to proposals, client engagement, and promotion of Arcadis’s risk management capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- A degree or equivalent qualification (risk management credentials such as APM Risk Certificate or IRM Certificate are highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience delivering risk services on major infrastructure projects in sectors such as rail, transportation, energy, aviation, or utilities.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, including ISO 31000 and methodologies from the Association for Project Management or Institute of Risk Management.
- Proficiency with enterprise and QRA tools including ARM, Palisade @Risk, Predict!, Xactium and Safran.
- Strong understanding of how risk integrates with other project controls disciplines including cost, schedule, planning, change, and commercial.
- Experience facilitating workshops, conducting qualitative risk assessments, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with Value Management techniques and application.
- A confident, professional communication style with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate across functions.
- An analytical, problem-solving mindset, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and against deadlines.
