Role Description:
As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will manage the delivery of cost management services for infrastructure framework projects. You will leverage your technical knowledge and experience to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively, in line with established controls and standards. In this role, you will coach and mentor junior team members, collaborate with external stakeholders, and provide expert advice on risk management and compliance processes to ensure successful project delivery.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Coach and mentor team members to share knowledge, increase skill levels, and improve service delivery standards.
  • Work within established financial systems and budgets to produce reports and forecasts, track budgets, and oversee costing and variances to manage cost variables effectively.
  • Deliver infrastructure framework projects, ensuring resources and budgets are utilized effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Provide advice to colleagues on risk management and compliance processes to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Present project risks and issues to senior managers to mitigate adverse impacts.
  • Analyze and review data and documents, identifying trends and themes to provide actionable recommendations for cost and commercial management decision-making.
  • Use industry best practices and technical expertise to improve processes and policies, making insightful recommendations for service improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate across teams to support project delivery, applying technical knowledge to meet cost expectations and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Provide technical advice to senior management on cost and commercial management issues, offering solutions and sharing knowledge to deliver results.
  • Manage relationships with clients and external stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and identify new business opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • Proven experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues and emerging leadership skills.
  • Experience working closely with external stakeholders to build strong client relationships.
  • Experience managing business relationships at middle-management level.
  • Expertise in taking infrastructure framework projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery.
