Due to increasing business need, Security is expanding at Arcadis, and we are increasing our vetting team to 6. Your focus will be on National Security Vetting and aftercare as well as the Baseline Personnel Security Standard to ensure we have the right resources, with the right level of clearance in the business. Our portfolio is diverse and you’ll be supporting key decision makers in every sector of the business across a wide range of projects. Your expertise in vetting will ensure we have the right resources cleared to the right level.
As a truly global company, not every resource is the right fit for every project. As an experienced vetting officer, your judgement will be vital in flagging complex cases and potential risk. You will enjoy the support of highly experienced and professional Security Managers who have a proven track record with casework and UK Security Vetting (UKSV) and are trusted by the Board and senior Directors to make tough decisions that comply with UK legislation, GovS 007 and client requirements.
You will be a skilled communicator, dealing with colleagues at all levels within the business, new joiners and client vetting teams. You will use the Arcadis vetting database, the UKSV Portal and a range of applications, including Yoti, Egress, HEDD, third‑party screening solutions, and the Microsoft Office suite. You will be confident working in a hybrid pattern between home and Arcadis office while enjoying support as a valued member of the Security team, with a keen focus on personal and professional development.
Role Accountabilities
- Key vetting point of contact internally for delivery of clearance support to senior Arcadis managers and externally as allocated for key clients, sectors or projects.
- Identification of potential vetting risk and complex cases.
- Sponsorship of National Security Vetting (NSV) applications and clearance aftercare:
- Assess eligibility of candidate to apply for the relevant level of NSV clearance.
- Assess requirement to obtain additional information to refresh BPSS before NSV application.
- Complete VSIs via UK Security Vetting (UKSV) portal.
- Sponsor initial applications, transfers, shares, cancellations and lapses of NSV clearances via UKSV portal.
- Complete aftercare process, assess returns and flag concerns to Personnel Security Manager.
- Delivery of Arcadis Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening (internal and third‑party solutions) – initial checks and client‑led refreshes:
- Assessment of large quantities of highly sensitive personal data.
- Completion of gap analysis of applications against Arcadis BPSS (compliant with current HMG BPSS) and liaison with candidates to obtain missing information or documentation.
- Identification to Personnel Security Manager of complex cases where candidates pose vetting risk to Arcadis and/or may be ineligible for NSV to support hire/no‑hire recommendation.
- Secure and accurate electronic processing and storage of highly sensitive personal data.
- Maintenance of Confidentiality, Availability and Integrity of Arcadis Vetting Database and SharePoint site.
- Management of the Arcadis Vetting shared mailbox as point of contact for all vetting enquiries within Arcadis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience as a Vetting Officer handling National Security Vetting (NSV) with strong working knowledge of NSV requirements and processes.
- Proven experience as a vetting officer of National Security Vetting processes.
- Experience working in the Defence sector (Nuclear experience advantageous).
- Ability to work remotely within a team, embrace change, and manage caseload to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business to effectively manage sensitive interactions with candidates undergoing vetting and externally to UKSV, new starters (pre‑employment), client vetting teams.
- NSV Level – valid SC Clearance.
- DISA/NPSA Personnel Security.
- Must be a sole UK national.
