Role description:

Arcadis’ UK Resilience - Water sector is seeking a Process Design Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to regional Resilience - Water Teams, providing optioneering, outline, and detailed design inputs for Frameworks across UK Water Companies and large-scale Design & Build projects with Contractor Partners. You will be involved in diverse and technically stimulating projects within treatment process engineering.

Role Accountabilities

  • Work collaboratively with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of outline and detailed design drawings, as well as other construction-ready documentation.
  • Support the development of feasibility-level designs and optioneering assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations, reports, drawings, and other deliverables.
  • Work with contractors, the supply chain, and other project stakeholders to support project delivery.
  • Participate actively in project meetings and support the team in achieving project goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or a suitable alternative qualification.
  • Working towards chartered membership of an appropriate professional body (IChemE or CIWEM) is advantageous.
  • Some technical design experience on multi-disciplinary projects, ideally within the water sector.
  • Awareness of Water Industry Clients and Contractors.
  • Enthusiasm and good communication skills.
  • Familiarity with BIM-led design and other process-specific digital tools.
  • Understanding of applicable British Standards, UK Industry Codes of Practice, and Water Specifications.
