Role Description

Join Arcadis as a Senior E&P Design Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of rail infrastructure across the UK.

You’ll collaborate with industry leaders and talented teams to deliver innovative, high-profile projects, including complex station regenerations and major electrification schemes.

  • Role Accountabilities
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary rail engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Provide effective leadership and technical guidance to project teams, promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and exceeded.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes, financial controls, and reporting systems to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee resource allocation, supplier selection, and performance management to optimise project outcomes.
  • Champion health, safety, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster team development through mentorship and support, helping others reach their full potential.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Power Engineering or a related discipline (Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution desirable).
  • Significant experience in UK rail projects, including strong knowledge of Network Rail GRIP processes and procedures.
  • Proven track record in the design and management of major electrification schemes and LV building services.
  • Experience as a competent Designer, Checker, and/or CRE in renewals, signalling power, point heating, and DNO supplies.
  • Strong technical expertise in rail M&E systems for depots and stations, with a solid understanding of BS7671.
  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in project and commercial management, including change control and programme delivery.
