Given the growth and expansion of our Rail South, West & Wales business area, we are needing an Associate Technical Director – E&P Engineering who will be responsible for providing technical leadership for assigned projects ensuring successful delivery for the mechanical and public health team. In Engineering, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening public places that bring people together. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role Accountabilities
- You will be contributing for the technical leadership at a senior level (including LV, HV distribution, traction DC or AC, HV systems, Sustainable Technologies, Renewable Energy systems, etc.).
- The role also covers line management responsibilities for the development and performance management of team, influence and lead the development and growth through strategic inputs, bringing market intelligence, develop bidding process, skill development, mentoring and bringing required talent and manage the evaluation of technical competence of staff proposed projects and identify specific training or any mentoring needs.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Experience
- Previous E&P design experience within the rail sector
- Experience to CRE or CEM level in E&P design work related activities essential
- Ability to mentor, train and develop a team of E&P Design Engineers
- Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H&S regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to maximize new business opportunities.
- Strong commercial / financial and bidding technical skills
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in using Software’s for traction power modelling, or ETAP, or PSpice, MicroStation experience an advantage
- Understanding of Network Rail GRIP process an advantage
- Knowledge of various LV, traction power systems 750v dc and 1500v dc or 25 KV traction power system an advantage.
- EMC design capabilities
