Role description:

As a Junior/ Project Planner, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful planning and delivery of infrastructure projects. Working closely with project teams, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure all planning activities align with project objectives.

In this role, you will assist in producing accurate planning estimates and execution strategies to optimize solutions while preventing errors. You will support tendering and estimating activities, ensuring all relevant planning considerations are incorporated. Additionally, you will track project performance against baseline plans, report on progress metrics, and proactively identify any issues that could impact project delivery. Your collaboration with stakeholders will help ensure that planning activities meet client requirements and contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Role accountabilities:

  • Support the development of baseline plans for assigned projects.
  • Monitor progress and report on earned value metrics to support forecasting and corrective actions.
  • Assist in generating planning estimates and execution strategies to optimize project delivery.
  • Contribute to planning input for estimating and tendering activities.
  • Identify and raise progress issues that could impact successful delivery, enabling timely recovery actions.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals and client expectations.

Qualifications & Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience in project planning, ideally within the infrastructure sector.
  • A minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent technical experience.
  • Proficiency in planning software and tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commercial awareness and a basic understanding of contracting environments.
