We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Manager to join our established Education sector team. In this role, you’ll work with a variety of prestigious clients across the UK, including higher education institutions, schools, trusts, museums, and the Department for Education. We’re seeking someone who is technically excellent and brings a broad range of cost management experience—especially within education projects, who can handle multiple priorities confidently.

You’ll enjoy a diverse workload, balancing several projects simultaneously. A passion for service delivery, confidence in client engagement, and strong organisational skills are essential. The ideal candidate will manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure profitability across all commissions.

Role Accountabilities
  • Produce reports, forecasts, and manage budgets using established financial systems to ensure cost control and project alignment.
  • Oversee multiple small-to-medium projects or key elements of larger assignments, managing resources and budgets to meet deadlines.
  • Advise on risk management and compliance, ensuring adherence to Arcadis’ processes and best practices.
  • Identify and present project risks or issues to senior management for timely resolution.
  • Analyse data and documentation to identify trends and provide expert recommendations for cost and commercial management.
  • Apply industry best practices and research to refine processes and drive innovation.
  • Collaborate across teams, leveraging technical expertise to meet cost expectations.
  • Provide specialist advice and solutions to senior management for successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of client objectives within the education sector.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong background in the education sector, with hands-on experience delivering cost management for education projects.
  • Laboratory project experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage medium-complexity projects successfully.
  • Collaborative approach and a track record of working effectively within diverse teams.
  • MRICS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
