With AMP8 in mind, we are actively recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEICA team. You'll join a dedicated team of professionals where you'll contribute and apply your skills to stimulating projects in the clean water & wastewater sector, both regionally and across the UK.

The role itself will sit within our Resilience Global Business Area. Role accountabilities:

  • Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production and checking complex electrical detailed designs including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
  • Supporting and/or leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets.
  • Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.
  • Technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, in a Design Lead capacity where assigned, using the latest digital design techniques.
  • Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers.
  • Lead and co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA).
  • Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial, and progress matters.
  • Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards and objectives.
  • Mentoring and performance development responsibility for assigned staff.
  • Capturing key project and technical knowledge, including innovations.
  • Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or other directly related degree.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as IET, InstMC or CIWEM or working towards and nearing application.
  • Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex water industry engineering projects preferably related to the water and wastewater industry.
  • Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design.
  • Technical/Discipline Team leader with collaborative behaviours.
  • Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience.
