Principal Engineer - Civils and Structures in Bristol

Role Accountabilities:

• The role will require successful candidates to lead interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables on behalf of engineering discipline.
• Undertake verification checking of elements at high complexity.
• Manage production of quality assured analysis and design; and coordination and integration of survey requirements onsite.
• Develop and manage the performance of team members and sub-contractors, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
• Support our Project Directors and Managers in the commercial management of our projects to ensure a successful result.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Chartership with either the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
• CRE experience is preferable, but mentoring will be provided if currently working towards this.
• Relevant design experience, preferably within a Rail environment.
• Experience preparing design deliverables using analysis and design software packages as well as using manual calculation methods.
• Experience of providing technical management and advice to project team members.
• Experience of applying sound engineering judgement in the development of projects.
• Have a sound knowledge and experience of the management of design risks.
