This is an exciting opportunity to join Pour Moi as a Fabric & Garment Technologist Assistant, across multiple categories, a role key to the development & growth of our product ranges.

From when we sold our very first bra way back in 2005, to today when we sell one approximately every 30 seconds, passion and playfulness is at the heart of everything we do. Our direct-to-consumer operation is growing by over 50%, but that’s not the only thing about Pour Moi that’s expanding! Our range has grown along with us to include lingerie, swimwear, beachwear, clothing, sportswear, nightwear and hosiery, with exciting new developments planned for future seasons. With our buying, design, technical, merchandising, marketing and sales departments based in our sunny Brighton offices, we have a blue-chip wholesale partner portfolio that includes M&S, Next, John Lewis, and ASOS. Our predicted annual turnover is £32 million, making us one of the leading brands in lingerie and swimwear. Main responsibilities:

  • Garment Technologist assistance
  • Measuring of garments
  • Filling workbooks ready for fit sessions.
  • Workbook training to suppliers (new suppliers)
  • Assisting on workbooks updates; such as adding photos following fit meetings
  • Checking workbooks have been correctly completed.
  • Supporting with wear trial preparation and gathering of information/photos.
  • Conducting garment wash tests if needed.
  • Attending fit sessions when required
  • Putting away of fit samples after fit sessions.
  • Supporting Garment Technologists on administration and organising of QC issues/samples.
  • Supporting the Garment Technologists on ensuring product labels are fit for purpose with correct labelling/wash care/fibre composition etc.
  • Receiving, logging and distributing incoming fit samples.
  • Maintaining sample trackers and monitoring sample status.
  • Chasing suppliers for outstanding samples, workbooks and required documentation.
  • Booking and coordinating fit sessions where required (fit model, meeting room, attendees).
  • Recording fit comments and actions during fit sessions.
  • Issuing updated workbooks and fit comments to suppliers after fittings
  • Managing courier bookings for samples.
  • Maintaining the sample archive and ensuring fit samples are stored correctly.
  • Filing and maintaining technical documentation and supplier records.
  • Supporting testing administration (requesting tests, tracking results and filing reports).
  • Monitoring critical path dates and highlighting any delays.
  • Assisting with quality investigations and supplier queries.
  • Supporting the preparation of size sets, pre-production and gold seal samples.
  • Maintaining fabric, trim and component libraries where applicable.

Sustainability & Traceability assistance:

  • Data collection for various sustainability & CSR reporting
  • Chasing in and administration of BOM information (Bill of materials) to improve traceability of our garments
  • Analysis of BOMs data with support from Garment & Fabric Technologist
  • Ensuring have all relevant certifications for sustainable fabrics & components (such as GRS/Oekotex certificates etc.)
  • Working with the Garment Technologist to ensure have all relevant test reports.
  • Supporting due diligence testing for RSL (Restricted Substance List)
  • Working with Garment Technologist & Buying team to have all relevant certification for recycled packaging (such as GRS certificates etc.)
  • Supporting to deliver Pour Moi’s sustainability policy across product and packaging.

CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) assistance:

  • Ensuring have all supplier audits
  • Chasing suppliers for updated factory audits when they expire.

Skills / experience required:

  • The ideal candidate will have training &/or experience of fashion & design, experience in pattern cutting, basic knowledge of fabric and garment technology.
  • Some experience working in a Buying/Design/Technical office, however previous experience is not essential.
  • Organisation skills, able to use initiative and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Numerical competency.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues, suppliers and others at all levels.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Good teamwork skills a willingness to participate as a full team member.
  • Computer literate proficient in excel and word applications.
  • Previous system experience is desired or clear ability to learn systems.
