Poundstretcher Ltd is looking for an experienced and driven Warehouse Operations Manager to join our Distribution Centre team in Kirby Muxloe, Leicester. Reporting directly to the Distribution Centre Manager, you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with operational, commercial and customer service requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse or logistics professional who enjoys leading people, improving processes and delivering high operational standards in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day warehouse operations across the Distribution Centre.
- Manage, motivate and develop warehouse colleagues and team leaders.
- Ensure the efficient receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of stock.
- Drive operational performance, productivity and service-level targets.
- Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure warehouse processes comply with company policies, health & safety requirements and relevant legislation.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock accuracy and operational discipline.
- Work closely with the Distribution Centre Manager and other departments to ensure smooth end-to-end supply chain operations.
- Support workforce planning, resource allocation and operational scheduling.
- Identify and implement improvements to warehouse processes, systems and ways of working.
- Support the training, development and performance management of the warehouse team.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive and high-performing working environment.
About You
We are looking for an experienced warehouse or logistics professional who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a warehouse, distribution or logistics management role.
- Strong people-management and leadership skills.
- Experience managing warehouse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- A good understanding of warehouse processes, stock control and operational KPIs.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to analyse operational performance and implement practical improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and operational excellence.
- Experience within retail, FMCG or a high-volume distribution environment would be advantageous.
