Join us here at Poundland & Dealz as a Financial Reporting Controller, based at our Walsall office, working in a hybrid pattern of circa 3 days.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of consolidated reporting and statutory accounts.
  • Manage the external audit process.
  • Support improvements to processes, controls and accounting policies.
  • Act as a technical lead on IFRS.
  • Oversee IFRS 16 and lease accounting, month-end processes for smaller entities, and key judgement areas such as impairments and provisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the wider business.
  • Lead the Financial Reporting function within the Operational Finance Team.
  • Own statutory reporting for Poundland Ltd and its subsidiaries while partnering closely with Tax & Treasury, FP&A and Financial Accounts.
  • Ensure robust financial control, support audit processes and contribute to key strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally with a Big 4 background and at least 4 years post-qualified experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS and UK GAAP, including IFRS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 3 and IAS 16.
  • Experience in statutory reporting, group reporting and managing audits.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion is an advantage.
