About the role...

We have an exciting job share opportunity for a proactive Payroll Advisor to join our busy Payroll team.

This role involves working 24 hours across 2.5 days per week in a collaborative job-share arrangement (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday)

As a Payroll Advisor your work helps ensure that over 17,000 colleagues across the UK and Ireland are paid accurately and on time.

You will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate payroll services for both 4-weekly and monthly pay runs. Working closely with a collaborative team, ensuring a smooth and compliant payroll process.

The role will be based in our Customer Support Centre, so being within commuting distance of Walsall is essential.

Your Impact and Responsibilities…

  • Processing payroll for a large, multi-site organisation (UK & Ireland), covering over 17,000 colleagues across various pay frequencies.
  • Support diverse payroll processes across retail, distribution centres, and our Customer Support Centre.
  • Input and maintain accurate payroll data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with deadlines.
  • Resolve colleague queries promptly and efficiently, collaborating with line managers for timely resolutions.
  • Handling a range of payroll matters including statutory payments, absence, and auto-enrolment.
  • Supporting continuous improvements to simplify processes and enhance service delivery.

Skills and Knowledge…

  • At least 2 years of experience managing payroll for 3,000+ employees.
  • Skilled in Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Experience with ResourceLink or a similar HRIS/payroll system is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • A team-focused, solutions-driven approach and great attention to detail.
