The Senior Photographer and Studio Manager plays a key role in driving sales by producing high-end, in-house visual assets for the Marketing and Design teams. This position focuses on delivering creative, cross-category lifestyle photography for FMCG, Clothing and GM products which showcases both new and existing product ranges across print, digital, and video channels.
Reporting to the Design & Studio Controller, the Senior Photographer and Studio Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of lifestyle shoots, including set-up, image capture, and overseeing post-production and retouching to ensure all outputs align with the approved brief. The role works closely with designers and artworkers to deliver consistent, high-quality imagery for packaging that enhances the brand and clearly communicates product features to customers.
During peak periods, the role requires the sourcing and management of freelance support to meet project deadlines, while ensuring correct file-saving protocols are followed across all media types. Strong working relationships with the Marketing and Trading teams are essential, as this role holds responsibility for all content produced by the photography studio.
In addition, the Senior Photographer and Studio Manager will support wider business needs, including internal video production, colleague portrait photography, and PR or charity event coverage.
Your Impact and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain studio standards, workflows, and file-saving protocols across all media types.
- Ensure that file saving protocols are maintained and are followed by any freelance members of the team.
- Produce high-quality lifestyle photography and video content for use across print, digital, and marketing channels.
- Plan, set up, and manage lifestyle clothing photoshoots, including image capture and creative execution in line with approved briefs.
- Take responsibility for sourcing any extra equipment or props required for shoots.
- Oversee post-production processes, including retouching and final image delivery, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment.
- Collaborate closely with designers and artworkers to deliver consistent, high-quality imagery for packaging that elevates the brand and clearly communicates product benefits.
- Source, brief, and manage freelance photographers or re-touchers during peak periods to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure all content is delivered on time and adheres to agreed technical and quality standards.
- Take ownership of all visual content produced by the photography studio.
- Ensure image settings are followed and align with the rest of the team (colour compliancy, resolutions etc.).
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Design, and Trading teams.
- Act as a key point of contact for photography and studio-related requests across the business.
- Travel to and from the office and locations as/when required.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the photography studio, ensuring that samples are returned as required.
