Join us here at Poundland & Dealz as Financial Reporting Controller, based at our Walsall office working in a hybrid pattern of circa 3 days. In this role you'll be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of consolidated reporting and statutory accounts, as well as managing the external audit process. Working across Finance, you'll support improvements to processes, controls and accounting policies, while acting as a technical lead on IFRS.
You'll also oversee IFRS 16 and lease accounting, month-end processes for smaller entities, and key judgement areas such as impairments and provisions, while partnering with stakeholders across the wider business. With accountability from day one, you'll lead the Financial Reporting function within the Operational Finance Team, owning statutory reporting for Poundland Limited and its subsidiaries while partnering closely with Tax & Treasury, FP&A and Financial Accounts.
You'll ensure robust financial control, support audit processes, and contribute to key strategic initiatives. You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally with a Big 4 background and at least 4 years' post-qualified experience. You'll have strong technical expertise in IFRS and UK GAAP, including IFRS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 3 and IAS 16, alongside experience in statutory reporting, group reporting and managing audits.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential. Experience with Oracle Fusion would be an advantage.
