We are recruiting for a People Partner to support the London and South Region. The role is field-based and will require travel across the region 3β4 days per week. Monthly travel to the Customer Support Centre in Walsall will also be needed.

Overview
The People Partner will be part of the Regional Leadership team and will partner the Head of Region to deliver a proactive, commercial and value-added HR service.

Responsibilities
- Act as business partner to the Head of Region to deliver a proactive, commercial and value-added HR service to the region.
- Develop and drive the People strategy for the region in partnership with the Head of Region and implement the national Retail People plan.
- Responsible for improving key performance indicators such as labour turnover, performance management, absence levels, stability, headcount and succession.
- Support and coach the Area Manager teams to engage and inspire their store management teams to deliver excellent service and standards.
- Embed a culture of driving talent and succession as a regional strategy to balance internal and external needs.
- Effective implementation of people change projects.
- Identify and implement People process improvements that will drive cost and time savings.
- Ensure there is a live succession plan for the region and build and implement effective recruitment plans that drive internal promotion.
- Build a culture of robust performance management to drive performance and behaviours.
- Act as a point of escalation to oversee and advise on complex ER cases, particularly involving termination through misconduct, performance or ill-health and support early conciliation and ET case management, working with the ER team and external provider and attend hearings where required.
- Manage a robust cost control rhythm and routine with the Head of Region to drive effective control of management headcount, budgets and leavers.
- Oversee and check key areas of legal compliance in retail, e.g. GDPR, Working Time Directive, NMW, right to work activity, and People changes and principles to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop a culture of engagement in the region, landing business initiatives and building a regional plan.
- Drive Apprenticeships in the region, linking with internal development programmes and succession plans.
- Provide timely coaching and support to colleagues on an internal or external development programme.
Skills And Knowledge
- Previous experience in HR Business Partner within a fast-paced and multi-sited environment. Retail sector experience is preferred but not essential.
- Experience of partnering a senior leadership team.
- Strong experience of operational and strategic HR management.
- Experience of developing and implementing HR strategy.
- Experience of driving and delivering change management programmes.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (Preferred but not essential).
