Join us as a Buying Assistant at Poundland in our Customer Support Centre in Walsall. Following training, the role offers flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.

About the Role

As a Buying Assistant, you will deliver administrative support to a team of Senior Buyers and Buyers. You’ll support the coordination of activities that helps us ensure we select the right products and that they land in store at the right time and at the right price.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Complete the weekly price change sheet ensuring competitor information is included.
  • Collate information to create New Line Forms.
  • Liaise with the team regarding Grey Suppliers ensuring trackers are updated.
  • Complete competitor shop checks in person and online.
  • Produce trading management information reports.
  • Raise invoices and create new suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and complete monthly turnover trackers.
  • Order samples to be used in the range review process.
  • Manage stock in our sample room and support range builds in our mock shop.

Required Skills and Experience

We need a highly organised administrator who has great attention to detail and experience supporting a fast‑paced team. Previous experience in a Retail Buying Assistant role is preferred but not essential. To be successful, you must be able to prioritise multiple tasks, have strong communication skills and a passion for retail.
