About The Role
We are recruiting for an Assistant Merchandiser to join the Clothing Merchandising team on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. The role will be based from our Watford offices and offers flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.
As Assistant Merchandiser you will support the Clothing Merchandising team to maximise profit and minimise waste through accurate delivery of sales analysis, forecasting, ownership of stock and intake management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and compile range planning analysis to include supplier, category, phase, colour, shape and sizing
- Attend pre-selection range planning meetings and compile any relevant analysis/next steps
- Maintain and update range plan ensuring full accuracy at all times
- Work with the Merchandising team to deliver against the top line planning principles, including phasing, category mixes and option counts
- Liaise with suppliers and logistics/supply chain teams on any intake problems & take necessary action, and feed back to relevant business functions
- Propose appropriate actions for delivery delays and short shipments
- Prepare analysis for weekly meetings commenting on previous weekβs category/product sales performance
- Ensure that promotions and markdowns are actioned in a timely manner to meet start dates and communicate effectively with the business
- Monitor & report on terminal stock levels and suggest actions to achieve terminal targets
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Previous experience as an Assistant Merchandiser or Merchandise Administration Assistant
- Previous working experience in clothing retail
- Ability to identify commercial issues and propose appropriate action
- Experience of developing / streamlining processes to be more effective
- Excellent communication skills
- Great attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills
