Role Overview: Potting Shed Events is growing, and we’re looking for a brilliant Event Manager to join our small, creative team based near Winchester. We’re a corporate event agency with a big focus on guest experience and we deliver memorable events for a wide range of UK and international clients. From thoughtful environments to impactful team experiences, our work is all about helping people connect, do their best work, and leave inspired. We’re looking for someone with around 3 – 5 years’ event management experience who’s ready to take ownership of projects and grow with us. You’ll be hands‑on from concept to delivery, working across different types of events, venues, and client industries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the planning and delivery of key events, including but not limited to corporate functions, private parties, and team events & experiences.
- Support on larger and more complex events – in both planning and onsite delivery.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their event requirements and manage expectations through regular communication.
- Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and venues to ensure all event logistics are covered (catering, décor, entertainment, AV, etc.).
- Develop and manage event timelines and budgets, ensuring all elements of the event are executed to the highest standard and on schedule.
- Oversee on‑site event operations, ensuring seamless execution, problem-solving on the day, and high levels of client satisfaction.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Support the operation team with a variety of event-related tasks as needed, including event research, administration, and procurement.
- Assist with client communications, creating proposals, presentations, and reports as required.
- Help manage event post‑mortem tasks, including feedback collection, reporting, and invoicing.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate event staffing and suppliers to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after events.
- Track event progress and ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and client specifications.
- Handle any troubleshooting or unexpected issues that may arise during events or planning phases, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in event management, with a minimum of 4-5 years in a similar role. We will consider less experience for the right culture fit.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism in client interactions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility for event success.
- Proficiency in Google products and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of budgeting, vendor negotiation, and contract management.
