Potter and Moore Plc is a UK-based beauty and wellbeing brand owner and manufacturer listed on the AIM market, combining brand ownership with large-scale manufacturing expertise. The company operates two manufacturing sites in Peterborough and Tiverton, employs roughly 380 people, and produces more than 44 million units each year across personal care, haircare, skincare and baby care categories.
The group generates revenue through two primary channels: its portfolio of owned brands, including Emma Hardie, Feather & Down, The Curl Company and Balance Active Formula, alongside private label manufacturing for leading retail partners. Complementing these core activities, Potter and Moore also provides selected contract manufacturing services. Through this diversified model, the business supplies major retailers and premium beauty brands across both UK and international markets.
Role Description
We're looking for a commercially curious, creative and ambitious Brand Graduate to join our team in Peterborough and build a career in beauty brand management.
Working closely with our Brand Managers, you'll gain hands‑on experience across the full brand lifecycle, from spotting emerging consumer trends and developing new product ideas through to creating marketing campaigns, analysing EPOS performance and supporting retailer presentations.
You'll play an active role in growing our brands, supporting new product development, coordinating marketing activity and using data and consumer insight to understand what's working and where the next opportunity might be.
This is a role for someone who is genuinely interested in what makes beauty brands successful. You'll need to be curious, organised and comfortable getting involved in the detail, while developing the commercial and creative skills needed to progress within brand management.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Management & Growth
- Support the Brand Manager in the day‑to‑day management and development of allocated brands.
- Help drive brand sales and awareness through NPD, marketing and commercial activity.
- Monitor brand performance and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Support the delivery of agreed brand plans and priorities.
- Build a strong understanding of the consumer, competitive landscape and commercial performance of each brand.
Brand Marketing & Social
- Support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns, themes and initiatives across allocated brands.
- Maintain Airtable to ensure brand marketing activity is accurately planned and tracked.
- Work with influencers and agencies, supporting the preparation and approval of briefs.
- Coordinate and schedule social content across relevant platforms.
- Propose creative content and activity designed to increase awareness, engagement and conversion.
- Analyse campaign and activity performance, reporting on ROI and identifying opportunities to improve future activity.
- Stay close to emerging social media trends, platforms and tools that could strengthen brand activity.
New Product Development
- Support the development of new products from initial concept through to launch.
- Work closely with Creative and R&D teams on product and concept generation.
- Contribute consumer, competitor and trend insight to NPD discussions.
- Prepare product costings and support the assessment of COGs against company margin criteria.
- Support the Brand Manager in progressing NPD projects and ensuring activity remains aligned with the wider brand proposition.
- Monitor emerging beauty, wellness, consumer and category trends.
- Maintain and develop a pipeline of ideas for future brand and product development.
- Use market insights and available data to identify and propose new opportunities.
- Develop strong knowledge of competitor brands, launches and activity.
- Bring new ideas and external inspiration into the wider brand team.
Retail & Commercial Support
- Support existing retailer listings through ongoing brand and marketing activity.
- Assist with identifying opportunities for new retailer listings through gap analysis, samples and market insight.
- Support the preparation of retailer presentations and brand materials.
- Analyse EPOS data to understand product and brand performance.
- Support product lifecycle decisions through accurate performance analysis and insight.
About You
Skills & Attributes
- Genuinely passionate about beauty, skincare, personal care and consumer brands.
- Curious about why consumers choose particular products and what makes brands successful.
- Naturally interested in social media, consumer behaviour and emerging beauty trends.
- Analytical and comfortable using data to identify trends and support decisions.
- Creative and able to bring new ideas and perspectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with good attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Proactive, positive and willing to get involved.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment.
- Ambitious and motivated to develop a career within brand management.
Experience Required
- Degree or equivalent qualification, ideally within marketing, business, commercial management or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of social media and digital content.
- Genuine interest in beauty, health, wellness or consumer products.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple pieces of work.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous work experience, placement, internship or university project within marketing, brand, beauty, retail or FMCG.
- Exposure to social media content creation or digital marketing.
- Experience analysing sales, marketing or consumer data.
- Understanding of the beauty and personal care market.
- Exposure to new product development or product innovation.
What Success Looks Like
- Developing a strong understanding of our brands, consumers, customers and competitors.
- Becoming confident using EPOS, campaign and market data to identify insights and opportunities.
- Making a valuable contribution to successful marketing campaigns and product launches.
- Bringing relevant consumer, social and beauty trends into brand and NPD conversations.
- Producing high-quality briefs, analysis, presentations and marketing support.
- Building strong working relationships across Brand, Sales, Creative, R&D and other teams.
- Increasing ownership and responsibility as your commercial and brand management capability develops.
- Building the foundations to progress into broader brand management responsibility.
The Ideal Candidate
You're probably the person who notices a new beauty product, trend or brand before most other people do, but you're also curious about why it's working.
You want to understand what makes someone pick one product over another, why something suddenly takes off on social media, how a product gets onto a retailer's shelf and whether the marketing behind it actually delivered a return.
You'll bring ideas and energy, but you'll also be willing to get into the detail. You're ambitious, commercially curious and keen to learn, and you want a role where you can build genuine experience across brand, marketing, NPD and retail rather than watching from the sidelines.
Who We Are & How We Work
We're a fast-moving, team-first business where the best idea wins regardless of where it comes from. Hierarchy doesn't slow us down - collaboration does the heavy lifting. People here take full ownership of their work, from the spark of an idea all the way through to results on shelf and numbers on a page. There's no passing the baton and walking away; you see it through, you learn from it, and you make it better next time.
We move quickly and adapt without drama. If a problem needs solving, we solve it. We don't wait for the perfect conditions or the perfect brief. That agility isn't just a working style, it's genuinely how we're structured: flexible in how and where we work, lean enough to make decisions fast, and trusting enough to give talented people real responsibility from day one.
This is a place where curious, driven, solutions-focused people do some of their best work because they're given the space, the autonomy and the team around them to make it happen. If you're energised by pace, motivated by ownership and want to feel the direct impact of your work on a brand you're proud of, you'll fit right in.
