School Business Manager – Salary £52,000 – £62,000 Hours: 35 hours per week Contract: Full-time (52 weeks) Location: NW9, London Reporting to: Executive Headteacher Our client, a leading charitable institution is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Business Manager to join their senior leadership team. This pivotal role involves managing strategic operations across compliance, finance, HR, health and safety, IT, and administration, driving the organization’s mission to support young people with special educational needs effectively. Key Responsibilities: • Lead financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to Trustees • Oversee compliance, HR, health and safety, and facilities management • Drive strategic planning and resource allocation aligned with 5-year plan • Manage procurement, vendor relationships, and fundraising strategies • Ensure regulatory compliance, risk management, and data protection • Supervise administrative staff and contribute to school leadership • Implement marketing strategies and oversee IT systems management Essential Qualifications and Skills: • Relevant degree, preferably in accountancy, finance, or business management • Proven experience in school business management or senior financial role in the education sector • Strong financial acumen, including budget management and analysis • Excellence in leadership, interpersonal skills, and staff development • Proficiency in HR management, employment law, and recruitment • In-depth knowledge of educational regulations and compliance requirements • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities • Proficiency in IT systems, data management, and GDPR compliance Desirable Qualifications: • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CSBM, DSBM, or equivalent) • Experience with fundraising and income generation in the education sector • Knowledge of facilities management and health & safety regulations • Understanding of charity and company reporting requirements The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.This role requires a candidate with prior experience in the education sector, particularly in school business management or a senior financial role within an educational setting.
