We are seeking a senior-level Project Manager to deliver a significant, enterprise-scale programme within New Zealand’s central government sector. This is a 12-month fixed term position. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end leadership on projects that span digital transformation, business change, and data-focused technology solutions within the centralised government sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full delivery lifecycle for major, high-profile projects within a public sector setting
- Build and manage effective relationships with government stakeholders, including agencies with compliance, regulatory, and data governance priorities
- Oversee key aspects of data-focused technology solutions as well as business change initiatives
- Coordinate project delivery across multiple teams, including IT, business, and data units
- Ensure successful delivery in line with agreed objectives, budgets, timelines, and risk profiles
- Manage project reporting, documentation, and governance to a high standard
- Foster enterprise-level collaboration, stakeholder communication, and knowledge sharing
About You
- Senior experience delivering complex projects in central government or the wider public sector in New Zealand
- Strong track record managing multi-agency, enterprise-wide stakeholders, with emphasis on compliance, regulation, and data governance
- Skilled communicator who can influence and collaborate with executives, regulatory bodies, and diverse technical and business teams
- Background in significant projects involving digital transformation, business change, or technology-driven data solutions (experience with data-focused projects is a bonus)
- Evidence of success delivering complex, high risk, or remediation projects with public sector impact
- Excellent organisation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities
- NZ work authorisation and availability to work onsite in Christchurch
