Potensis Selection are working with a well-established residential developer who is looking for an Adoptions Engineer to join their growing Technical team in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the adoption of infrastructure across residential developments, supporting the delivery of high-quality homes and communities. The role offers a collaborative, supportive environment with strong development opportunities and a focus on career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the adoption of development infrastructure, including roads, drainage, utilities, and open spaces, working with the relevant authorities to ensure projects are adopted on time.
- Keep adoption schedules up to date, managing both legacy projects and new developments.
- Liaise with internal teams, external consultants, and statutory bodies to ensure adoption processes run smoothly.
- Monitor bond overrun risks and work with technical leadership to resolve issues and prevent delays.
- Assist technical, construction, and commercial teams in gathering evidence, completing remedial works, and securing approvals for infrastructure adoption.
- Review and interpret drawings, surveys, reports, and test results, providing accurate information to support practical completion, certification, and vesting.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Construction or engineering qualification, or at least 5 years’ relevant industry experience.
- Practical experience with legal and technical processes for roads, sewers, and utilities.
- Knowledge of current building regulations, NHBC standards, and highways/drainage requirements.
- Strong IT skills, including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organised, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
