Our client is one of the UK's leading residential developers, delivering high-quality homes and thriving communities across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Specification Manager to join their Sales team.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping the internal specification standards across multiple residential developments, ensuring homes are delivered to the highest standards of quality, performance, compliance and customer satisfaction.
Reporting into the Sales leadership team, you will take ownership of the development, management and continuous improvement of construction specifications across a portfolio of residential projects. Working collaboratively with Technical, Commercial, Procurement, Design, Production, Sales & Customer Care teams, you will ensure specifications reflect current legislation, industry best practice, sustainability objectives and commercial requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with Procurement and Commercial teams to identify value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
- Ensure specifications comply with current Building Regulations, NHBC requirements, fire safety legislation and relevant British Standards.
- Manage specification changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the delivery of quality, consistency and cost efficiency across multiple developments.
We're looking for an experienced technical professional with a strong understanding of residential construction and specification management:
- Previous experience as a Specification Manager within a volume housebuilder or residential developer.
- Excellent knowledge of residential construction methods, internal finishes and building materials.
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, NHBC standards and technical compliance.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, performance and cost.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
