Potensis Selection is pleased to partner with an award‑winning Residential Developer who are looking to expand their existing team and recruit a Design Manager. The existing business has a strong reputation for consistently delivering high‑end, complex, and design‑led projects across the capital for over 20 years. Due to an expansion of workload, the developer now seeks a Design Manager on a long‑term contract basis to manage a high‑value apartment‑led project in South West London.
Responsibilities:
- Providing technical advice to the business and act as a focal point for all technical design‑related matters on the project.
- Help manage a range of external consultants, ensuring their performance delivers the agreed outcomes.
- Drive innovative and cost‑effective solutions into the design.
- Provide design solutions to the build team during the production process to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Management of design review meetings, progress & performance reporting, and design change control.
- Manage the flow of technical issues to and from site to ensure all parties have all required information.
- Liaise with the Commercial department to ensure all relevant orders are placed in line with the agreed budget.
Experience of working on apartment‑led projects, gained from within a Residential/Mixed‑Use Developer or Architectural Practice, would be appropriate for the role. All candidates will need to be capable of forming effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders and exhibit a calm, professional approach to problem solving. The role would suit someone who is currently working as a Design or Technical Manager for a Residential Developer or Architectural Practice and is looking to work for a developer.
