We are working with an established business operating within the residential development sector that is looking to strengthen its technical team with an experienced Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist.

This is a varied opportunity for someone who enjoys combining detailed technical design work with client interaction.

The successful candidate will play an important role in producing high-quality technical information while working closely with clients, consultants and internal teams to help take residential schemes from design through to delivery.

The Role

  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, construction information and associated design documentation for residential projects.
  • Work closely with residential development clients to understand project requirements and provide practical technical solutions.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and attend meetings where required.
  • Coordinate design information with consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Ensure drawings and technical information are accurate, coordinated and produced within agreed timescales.
  • Manage several projects simultaneously, prioritising workloads while maintaining a high standard of technical output.
  • Contribute technical knowledge and practical construction understanding throughout the design process.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the UK residential sector, either with a consultancy or architectural practice focused on housing, or within the technical/design function of a residential developer or housebuilder.

You will ideally have

  • A strong background in residential technical design and drawing production.
  • Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and residential construction methods.
  • Strong Auto CAD skills; experience with Revit would be beneficial.
  • The ability to interpret and produce detailed technical information accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients and other project stakeholders.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects.
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset and a genuine interest in delivering high-quality residential developments.
