Potensis Selection is pleased to partner with one of the UK’s leading Housebuilders who are looking to appoint an Estimator to join their high performing commercial team.

The business has an excellent pipeline of new projects and is continuing to purchase new sites.

This expansion has led to the need to expand their commercial team and recruit a Senior Estimator to help to manage a range of new and upcoming projects.

Responsibilities will include

  • Assist in securing land and contracting opportunities within our market sector and geographic operational area.
  • Provide commercial support to the Land team for all land bids
  • Work closely with Technical and Construction teams to ensure cost accuracy on projects
  • Initial appraisal of development sites based on information provided. Assess risks and opportunities, establish viability.
  • Supporting value engineering or negotiating exercises where required.
  • Produce cost plans in detailed formats to enable review by the project and development teams
  • Conduct site visits where required
  • Assist in developing best practices in refining the estimating function for continuous improvement.
  • Attend tender design review meetings in order to ensure the bid team achieve the most economically advantageous bid.
  • Price draft preliminaries in line with the tender programme.
  • Value engineering – provide advice and costs associated with value engineering proposals for the scheme
  • Provide input in post tender queries / negotiations

All candidates should have experience of working with a house builder, main contractor or cost consultancy or new build residential projects.
