Potensis Selection is pleased to partner with one of the UK’s leading Housebuilders who are looking to appoint a Finance Director to help drive forward their exciting growth plans in the coming years. The business has an excellent pipeline of high value projects and is continuing to purchase new sites. The Finance Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial operations and work as a key member of the executive team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work as a full part of the senior leadership team to ensure the strategic growth plans of the business are delivered.
  • Deliver robust financial controls and improve performance whilst mitigating risk.
  • Supervise all financial operations, encompassing accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ownership of the budgets and monthly forecasts for the business ensuring that they are accurate and well managed.
  • Contribution to improvement or introduction of management information systems.
  • Partnering the MD and Board with all strategic and commercial decision making.
  • Use the insights generated during work to push for increased efficiency, rationalisation and the optimal use of resources.
  • Review, challenge and support proposed land acquisitions, ensuring that all potential financial considerations and opportunities are accounted for.
  • Responsible for all aspects of cash management within the region, including accurate reporting on cash inflows and outflows on a weekly basis and ensuring that risks are identified and reported as required.
  • Management compliance and overall responsibility for all taxes relating to the Division including VAT, CIS and corporation tax.
  • Attend Board meetings to advise on financial and commercial issues.
  • Ensure that the team is aware of its progress towards achieving the businesses financial targets and provide practical solutions as to how these could be advanced.
  • Help to manage external banking relationships.
  • Drive employee engagement through a collaborative and empowering leadership approach.
  • Develop high performing teams by ensuring the recruitment, development and retention of high potential people occurs across the finance function.
