Potensis Selection is pleased to partner with an award winning Residential Developer who is looking to expand their existing team and recruit a Design Manager. The business has developed an enviable reputation for consistently delivering high end, complex and design led projects across the Capital for over 20 years. Due to an expansion of workload, they are now looking to attract and recruit a Design Manager on a long term contract basis to manage a high value apartment led project in South West London.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical advice to the business and acting as a focal point for all technical design related matters on the project.
  • Helping manage a range of external consultants, managing their performance to ensure that they deliver the agreed outcomes.
  • Driving innovative and cost effective solutions into the design.
  • Providing design solutions to the build team during the production process to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Management of design review meetings, progress & performance reporting, and design change control.
  • Managing the flow of technical issues to and from site to ensure that all parties have all required information.
  • Liaising with the Commercial department to ensure all relevant orders are placed in line with the agreed budget.

Experience of working on apartment led projects, gained from within a Residential/Mixed Use Developer or Architectural Practice would be appropriate for the role. In addition, all candidates will need to be capable of forming effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders, and exhibit a calm, professional approach to problem solving. The role would suit someone who is currently working as a Design or Technical Manager for a Residential Developer or Architectural Practice who is looking to work for a developer.
