Support Worker

We are pleased to announce we have an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Support Worker. Parkside Lodge is a small residential service based in Bensham, close to Gateshead City Centre, providing specialised support to 10 adults with mental health needs.

What we’ll give you:

• £12.71 per hour.
• 40 hours per week, will involve working weekends and bank holidays.
• 2 week rolling rota.
• Parkside Lodge is in Bensham and offers great bus links to Gateshead City Centre.

What you’ll be doing:

• Providing personal care and emotional support.
• Supporting with 1 to 1 hours.
• Supporting activities within the service and also out in the community.
• Medication support.
• Cleaning and household duties.
• Shifts would include 8 am to 6 pm, 10 am to 8 pm and at weekends 8 am to 8 pm.
• You will also need to have the flexibility to cover annual leave or extra hours when needed.

Who you are:

• A background in Mental Health is preferred; however, all training will be provided.
• You will have a positive attitude and be highly motivated with the ability to encourage the people we support and promote their independence.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and have a real passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
• You will be willing to take part in the chosen activities of the people we support.
