Apple Tree House is a residential, Ofsted Registered ‘Good’ children’s service situated on the outskirts of Weymouth, Dorset. Here we support 4 children aged 8 to 18.
Apple Tree House has been carefully adapted to provide specialist accommodation for children and young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated behavioural challenges.

What we’ll give you:
- £12.71 per hour, increasing to £12.90 per hour after a successful probation period. £13.50 per hour once you progress to stage 2.
- Part time, 18 hours per week.
- Waking Nights, 2 nights per week 9 pm to 9 am.

What you’ll be doing:
- Waking Nights, 2 nights per week 9 pm to 9 am.
- Our young people have a mix of interests and different levels of independence; you will be supporting with daily tasks to increase their confidence levels and everyday skills.
- You will support the children to have fun and engage in learning.
- You will be cooking, cleaning and supporting with everyday tasks, depending on the child’s ability. Will involve personal care.
- We make the most of being close to the seaside and local amenities. We enjoy days out together, shopping, visiting the cinema and take part in and encourage the children’s interests.
Who you are:
- The young people we support have said that they want someone “with a great sense of humour, who will have fun, will be understanding, patient and who will enjoy spending time with us”.
- You are enthusiastic, compassionate and love working with children.
- You are motivated, flexible and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Previous experience of working and supporting in a social care setting is essential.
