What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act, RIDDOR, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and Fire Safety regulations
  • Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures and risk assessments
  • Work closely with maintenance and operational teams to implement safe systems of work, including permits, isolation procedures and contractor controls
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and monitoring activities across multiple locations
  • Lead and support incident reporting and investigations, producing clear reports with root cause analysis
  • Deliver training, toolbox talks and briefings to staff at all levels
  • Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation
  • Support managers and teams with practical health and safety advice
  • Maintain accurate, audit‑ready records and produce reports for senior leadership
  • Act as the main contact for external health and safety consultants and support annual inspections

Who you are:

  • Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Confident working in environments such as healthcare, estates, facilities or other operational settings
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage with frontline teams and senior leadership
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Analytical with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Confident delivering training and influencing a positive safety culture
  • Team player who is approachable, supportive and solutions‑focused
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)
  • IOSH membership (TechIOSH/GradIOSH)
  • Experience within health and social care or similar regulated environments
  • Training or “Train the Trainer” qualification
