We’re looking for an HR lead to join Postworks on a 6 month fixed term contract. There’s potential to extend or move into a permanent role, depending on how things go. This is a hands‑on role with real ownership. You’ll lead our HR function day to day, while helping us build the right structure as we grow. There’s plenty to get stuck into – and plenty of scope to shape how we do things. The role is based on‑site and works around school hours, so it suits someone who wants impact and flexibility in the same role.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll lead HR across the business, keeping things running smoothly while improving how we work.
- Managing employee relations cases end to end.
- Advising and coaching managers at all levels.
- Building and improving HR policies and processes.
- Keeping us compliant with UK employment law and key requirements.
- Maintaining accurate HR data and systems.
- Supporting organisational change as we grow.
- Using data to guide decisions and spot issues early.
- Working across teams to keep things simple and joined up.
What we’re looking for:
- You’re confident leading HR in a standalone or small team environment.
- You’re practical, proactive, and comfortable figuring things out where there isn’t a clear blueprint.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (Level 7 or working towards is a bonus).
- 5+ years’ generalist HR experience.
- Strong experience handling employee relations cases independently.
- Solid knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience building or improving HR processes.
- Confident using HR systems and managing data.
- Clear, straightforward communicator.
- Well organised and able to prioritise your own workload.
- Detail focused, especially around compliance.
It’s a bonus if you also have:
- Experience in a scaling or fast‑growth business.
- Multi‑site or international HR exposure.
- Experience supporting restructures or organisational change.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar.
- A wellbeing or mental health qualification.
Time off and benefits:
- 24 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata).
- 2 duvet days.
- 2 volunteer days.
- Access to therapy sessions and wellbeing support.
- Free breakfast and lunch when you’re in.
- A well‑stocked pantry for the in-between bits.
- Eye care support.
- Referral bonus scheme.
- Monthly prizes and recognition.
