Postscript Books Ltd is a well‑established multichannel B2C bookseller based in Devon. We are seeking a Digital Marketing Executive to support the delivery of engaging digital content and campaigns that connect our books and our unique monthly catalogue with a wide audience of readers.

Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, you will support the day‑to‑day execution of digital marketing activity across social media, PPC, and email channels. You will play a key role in delivering campaigns that grow our online presence, engagement, and revenue.

As part of a collaborative and creative team, you will bring a positive, can‑do attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to contribute ideas that enhance campaign performance and content quality. A genuine interest in reading and books will support your ability to create and identify engaging, distinctive content for our audience.

Responsibilities

  • Create unique and engaging book‑led digital content including written assets, graphics, and short‑form video for social media platforms such as Meta, Pinterest, and Spotify in line with campaign briefs and brand guidelines.
  • Plan, build, deploy and report on email marketing campaigns as agreed with the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Create, schedule and publish social media posts and stories, ensuring accuracy, consistency, timely delivery and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Monitor and engage with the online book community by responding to comments and messages in a consistent tone of voice, helping to build brand presence and loyalty, and escalating where appropriate.
  • Write and publish blog content following SEO and content guidance.
  • Support the Digital Marketing Manager with email testing and performance analysis, including A/B testing and reporting.
  • Maintain digital content calendars, supporting alignment with wider campaign activity, seasonal moments, and planned promotions.
  • Assist in the setup and day‑to‑day use of digital tools and platforms, including email, social scheduling, analytics, and eCommerce personalisation systems.
  • Monitor and compile performance data across channels, supporting reporting and optimisation led by the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Contribute creative ideas in campaign and planning meetings, supporting the development of new marketing initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with social media, email marketing, and digital content trends, sharing relevant insights with the wider team.
  • Provide general support to the Digital Marketing Manager as required.
  • Any ad hoc duties as specified by the Management team.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in digital content creation, social media, and email marketing.
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and an understanding of brand consistency.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with strong English spelling and grammar and the ability to adapt tone of voice for different audiences.
  • Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to learn and develop new digital marketing skills.
  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • Genuine interest in reading, books, and the wider publishing industry.
  • Experience managing or using social media platforms such as Meta and Pinterest in a professional or business context.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as Klaviyo, Dotdigital, or similar CRM systems.
  • Design skills using tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A portfolio or examples of previous digital marketing, content, or social media work.

Terms and Benefits

  • Hours of Work: 30 hours per week – Monday to Thursday (0.8 FTE).
  • Salary: Pro‑rata of a full‑time salary of £24,784.50.
  • Job Type: Permanent (subject to a successful probation period) and office based.
  • Holiday: Pro‑rata of 25 days plus bank holidays.
