We are seeking a hands-on, commercially-minded Senior Business Finance Manager to lead our finance function. In this pivotal role, you will balance high-level strategic financial reporting with the operational oversight of our day-to-day accounting. You will directly manage two Finance Assistants, ensuring the smooth running of our weekly/monthly payroll, while taking full ownership of producing accurate management accounts to drive business decisions. You will work within the senior management team and report to company Directors.

Responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a small finance team
  • Preparation of comprehensive monthly and annual financial reports
  • Oversee weekly and monthly payroll processes
  • Ensure adherence to tax compliance
  • Manage the year end accounting process
  • Cashflow management and projections
  • Maintain robust internal financial controls
  • Driving a culture of process improvement across the finance function
  • Translate financial data into actionable commercial insights to help improve business efficiency and profitability

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (with active ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or CPA)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in corporate finance or accounting, with proven experience supervising or managing staff
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing full monthly management accounts
  • Experienced managing payroll, PAYE, pensions and statutory payments
  • Experienced in preparing and reconciling VAT returns
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with standard accounting software (e.g. Sage 50 / Sage payroll or similar)
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage a small team, monitor and improve performance
  • Experienced in overseeing credit control procedures
  • Experienced in developing, implementing and managing policies and procedures

Hours: Open to negotiation, between 22-30 hrs per week, worked flexibly between 7.30am to 6pm

Location: Based in Titanic Quarter, Belfast.
