The A&SO Apprenticeship Centre South is based at RAF Shawbury and is responsible for the delivery and administration of the Level 5 Air Traffic Controller apprenticeship to all new Direct Entry SNCO and Officers in the Air Operations (Control) and Air Traffic & Weapons Control specialisations. The post is parented by RAF Shawbury, but CoC is held by RAF High Wycombe. With the implementation of new equipment across the profession, the centre will be responsible for ensuring that the apprenticeship is fit for purpose and future proof.
FS Apprenticeship Centre Manager will be responsible for:
- Ensuring efficient, timely and safe execution of all tasks including the supervision and management of Centre Staff and Phase 2 trainees.
- Delivery of all administrative and educational material required to meet the apprenticeship standard.
- Delivery of the Level 5 standard to meet the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education guidelines.
- Carrying out the duties of an assessor in accordance with the A&SO Apprenticeship Centre South Policies and Procedures Manual and the 22Gp HQ RAF Apprenticeship Manual.
- Complying with Ofsted standards IAW the Education Inspection Framework.
- Maintaining the Centre Quality Improvement Plan and Self-Assessment Report in liaison with the Apprenticeship continuous improvement team (ACIT) and DCASO.
- Implementing and adhering to No. 22 Gp policies and procedures in accordance with the AP.
- Compiling and distributing agendas and minutes in the absence of the Office Manager.
