We are seeking a commercially driven and client-focused professional to support sales, client acquisition, and market development across commodities derivatives. This role is primarily focused on driving trading activity, building client relationships, and growing liquidity across the exchange's product suite, including energy, precious metals and environmental markets.
Responsibilities
- Execute a sales strategy to grow trading volumes and open interest in listed commodity derivatives whilst being knowledgeable of environmental and energy transition markets.
- Drive client acquisition and revenue growth by promoting exchange‐listed derivatives products.
- Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with key client segments, focusing on cross commodity product offerings targeting Trading firms, commodity houses, Banks, financial institutions, Energy companies, producers, and consumers.
- Analyse client activity, market share, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Understand client hedging, trading, and investment needs and propose solutions using listed derivatives.
- Collect and distribute feedback internally via internal CRM (Hubspot) platform and present regular business updates to management while supporting regional SMEs related to the Abaxx business.
- Ongoing relationship management and education to clients on Abaxx pricing and solutions, leading to transactional revenue on derivatives adoption.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns, webinars, roadshows, and industry events to raise the profile of the exchange's commodity franchise.
- Work closely with Onboarding teams to ensure a seamless client experience from onboarding through live trading.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field; a master's degree or professional designation (e.g., CFA, FRM, CAIA) is an advantage.
- Typically 5-8 years of experience in sales, business development, or client coverage within commodities, derivatives, or financial markets.
- Strong understanding of exchange‐traded derivatives and commodities markets with emphasis on environmental and energy transition markets.
- Demonstrated track record of building and managing institutional and corporate client relationships and meeting or exceeding commercial targets.
- Existing industry relationships and network are a strong advantage.
- The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-oriented, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of market participants to promote exchange products and expand market share.
