Primary Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant – Part‑Time Opportunities in Central Cambridge. Teaching Personnel are partnering with a number of welcoming and supportive primary schools to recruit a part‑time Level 3 qualified EYFS Teaching Assistant with SEND experience. We offer a mix of ad hoc supply and longer‑term placements within Early Years settings. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant seeking flexible part‑time work, with the opportunity to secure more consistent, long‑term placements in supportive school environments.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of engaging and play‑based learning in line with the EYFS framework
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist the class teacher with planning and preparing activities and resources
- Support children’s early development, communication, and social skills
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
Typical Day
- Supporting children during structured and play‑based learning activities
- Providing 1:1 support for a child with additional needs
- Delivering targeted interventions to support early development
- Assisting with phonics, early numeracy, and communication activities
- Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Helping with classroom set‑up and organisation
- Providing feedback to the class teacher on pupil progress and wellbeing
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Recent and relevant UK‑based experience in an EYFS setting
- Experience supporting children with SEND (e.g. ASD, speech and language needs, SEMH)
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive, reliable, and adaptable attitude
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
