POST Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing, multi-entity group to appoint an experienced Financial Controller. This is a pivotal leadership role designed to strengthen financial control, enhance operational reporting, and build scalable processes to support the Group’s continued UK growth and planned expansion into Europe. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will own the record-to-report process and lead the operational accounting function, ensuring robust controls, compliance, and high-quality financial data across all entities.
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Lead and execute the monthly close process
- Deliver accurate P&L and Balance Sheet within agreed deadlines
- Complete full balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger integrity
- Support consolidated group reporting
Financial Controls & Process Improvement
- Design and implement strong internal controls
- Develop and document SOPs across finance
- Ensure effective segregation of duties
- Strengthen credit control and debtor management
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
- Drive balance sheet improvement initiatives
Compliance & Statutory
- Coordinate VAT, payroll, and statutory filings
- Prepare year-end audit working papers
- Liaise with auditors and tax advisors
- Maintain a compliance calendar across multiple entities
Cash & Working Capital
- Support 13-week cash flow forecasting
- Monitor debtor days and creditor terms
- Assist with refinancing and funding projects
- Deliver working capital performance reporting
Candidate Profile
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience with strong technical grounding)
- Experience within an SME or multi-entity group structure
- Strong technical accounting expertise
- Process-driven, detail-oriented, and controls-focused
- Comfortable building structure in a scaling, evolving business
- Strong ERP / accounting systems knowledge
