Production Manager – Plastics Engineering Salary: Up to £55,000 benefits Location: Blackburn Are you an experienced Production Manager with a background in plastics engineering or precision manufacturing? This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a well-established manufacturing site, driving operational excellence and preparing the business for its next stage of growth. The Role As Production Manager, you will lead the day-to-day running of a plastics manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality output. You’ll oversee production planning, team leadership, quality management and site maintenance, while also implementing improvements to prepare the operation for expansion. Key responsibilities include: * Managing all aspects of production operations across CNC machining, routing, milling and turning. * Leading production planning, capacity planning and contract reviews to meet customer demand. * Driving quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. * Managing tooling, drawings and order processes. * Overseeing safe systems of work, compliance, and site maintenance. * Coaching, motivating and developing the production team to achieve KPI targets. * Liaising with commercial teams to ensure smooth order flow and on-time delivery. About You We are looking for a proven Production Manager with strong knowledge of CNC machining and CAD processes. You’ll be a confident leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and develop a loyal workforce. To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate: * Experience in plastics engineering, manufacturing, or precision component production. * Strong background in implementing and monitoring engineering KPIs. * Excellent knowledge of quality assurance and workplace organisation. * Proven ability to manage production planning, lead time management and cost control. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage, persuade and motivate teams. * A continuous improvement mindset, with experience in Lean or Six Sigma an advantage.
