Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer – Loughborough | £50K-£52K | No Shift Work

Location: Loughborough

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 15:30 (No Shift Work)

Salary: £45,000 – £52,000 (DOE)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing

  • Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance – Perform both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on various production machinery
  • Breakdown Support – Diagnose and repair electrical faults and mechanical failures to minimise downtime
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics – Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated equipment
  • Process & Efficiency Improvements – Work alongside the production team to optimise machine performance and reduce waste
  • Health & Safety Compliance – Ensure adherence to 18th Edition Electricity at Work Regulations and PUWER standards
  • Parts & Inventory Management – Manage spare parts stock to prevent downtime and maintain smooth operations

Requirements – What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) in a manufacturing or industrial setting (plastics, packaging, or similar industries preferred)
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills, with knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
  • Formal Electrical Engineering qualification (Level 3 minimum)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge (highly desirable)
  • Experience with PPM systems (e.g., Holistech) and a strong commitment to continuous improvement
  • Solid Health & Safety awareness, ensuring safe working practices at all times

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with PET sheet production, ancillary equipment, or granulation systems
  • Basic IT skills for logging maintenance work and reporting faults
