What to expect

The CMDB Administrator is a key member of the Service Platform team, responsible for contributing to the delivery of functional objectives, always modelling the Post Office behaviours, and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.

The CMDB Administrator will be responsible for configuring and operating the ServiceNow CMDB and related portfolio modules. They execute authorised changes, support automation, and maintain the technical integrity of the CMDB, Application Portfolio, and Service Portfolio environments.

They will support a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Configure and maintain the CMDB, including CI classes, attributes, and relationships as authorised by the Configuration Manager.
  • Operate and optimise technical tools such as the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) and Service Graph Connectors.
  • Execute Data Manager policies for bulk deletion, retirement, or archival of CIs.
  • Populate and maintain non-discoverable attributes in collaboration with CI Owners and Analysts.
  • Perform remediation activities for duplicates, stale, or orphaned records.
  • Support creation of reporting, dashboards, and self-service views for stakeholders.
  • Ensure integrations and discovery sources are properly configured and functioning.
  • Technical accuracy, stability, and performance of the CMDB and associated data models.
  • Executing and enforcing standards as directed by the Configuration Manager and Process Owner.
  • Delivering the automation and tooling required to sustain long-term data quality.
  • Identifying and raising continual improvement opportunities for CMDB.
  • CSA Certified highly preferred
  • ServiceNow CMDB Now learning micro certs
  • ITIL awareness (certified preferred)
