What to expect

As a Technology Product Director, you will join us on our transformation journey and take on a strategic, high‑impact leadership role responsible for defining and executing the product strategy across key postal and financial services, and for our enabling technology products, platforms and devices. You’ll ensure they are resilient, agile, scalable and secure, and that they deliver high‑quality, low‑cost outcomes that maximise revenue and performance across an omni‑channel offering.


You will be working collaboratively with Postmasters, partners and cross‑functional teams (Technology, Operations, Finance, Marketing and Transformation), engaging early to shape requirements and translate insight into delivery—driving continuous improvement, robust governance and measurable performance through clear KPIs and action plans.


This role offers you a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact—leading product innovation, enhancing customer and Postmaster experience, and optimising revenue growth, all whilst role modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster‑first mindset.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Strong strategic, analytical and commercial acumen, with excellent data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, including engagement with senior stakeholders and boards.
  • Deep understanding of digital transformation and full product lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to define and deliver product strategy and identify innovation and growth opportunities.
  • Experience leading high‑performing product and platform teams and collaborating across functions.
  • Strong governance capability, managing KPIs, budgets, resilience, scalability and security of products.
  • Experience working with suppliers and optimising value through effective vendor management; regulated/public‑sector experience desirable.
