As the Engineering Director, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering the Post Office’s technology platforms, ensuring they are secure, resilient and aligned to business and customer outcomes. You will lead a team of engineers within a product-led environment, responsible for the end-to-end delivery, operation and evolution of key platforms across our technology estate. Working closely with Product, Architecture and wider Technology teams, you’ll drive a focus on value, outcomes and customer impact—balancing the delivery of complex change with the stability of live services.

This is a highly visible leadership role where you will influence technology strategy, provide technical oversight and build strong relationships across the organisation, a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact, drive innovation, and help shape the future of Post Office technology.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced engineering leader with a strong track record of delivering complex, business-critical platforms. You will also:

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams at scale (c.15–25 engineers)
  • Operate effectively within product-led or product-aligned delivery models
  • Demonstrate strong technical leadership, with the ability to challenge and guide engineering decisions
  • Drive operational resilience, service performance and continuous improvement
  • Influence and engage senior stakeholders across complex organisations
  • Promote modern engineering practices including DevOps, CI/CD and cloud-based solutions
