What to expect

As a Project Manager, you will join us on our transformation journey and undertake a high-impact role responsible for leading and delivering strategic change initiatives that support the Post Office Transformation Plan. You will manage projects end-to-end, ensuring successful delivery against scope, time, cost and quality objectives while driving measurable business benefits.

You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, influencing decision-making, managing project governance, and embedding best-practice project management approaches to support organisational objectives and successful transformation outcomes.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact, helping shape the future of the Post Office through the delivery of complex transformation and change programmes that improve outcomes for our business, Postmasters and customers.

How our people behave is as important to Post Office as what is delivered. The Project Manager will role model the Post Office behaviours and demonstrate a Postmaster First mindset.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have experience delivering business and operational change projects within a retail or customer-facing environment. You will be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of project delivery and driving outcomes with minimal supervision.

As a Project Manager, you will lead projects from initiation through to implementation, working with stakeholders across the business to deliver agreed outcomes, manage risks and dependencies, and realise business benefits. This role is ideally suited to someone with a retail, operations, or business transformation project management background rather than an IT-focused Project Manager.

In addition to this, the ideal candidate will:

• Hold a recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2 and/or Agile.
• Have extensive experience delivering retail, operational, business change or transformation projects, managing project plans, milestones, risks and dependencies.
• Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Have experience managing project budgets and proactively mitigating cost, scope and schedule variances.
• Possess strong leadership, communication and people management skills, with a focus on delivery and outcomes.
• Be a self-sufficient Project Manager who can work independently, take ownership and operate effectively within a complex, fast-paced environment.
