The Pricing Director is responsible for defining and delivering Post Office Insurance (POI) pricing and commission strategy; ensuring sustainable growth, strong lifetime customer value and delivery of commercial plans in line with POI’s strategic objectives. This role owns pricing optimisation across POI’s insurance portfolio, leveraging advanced analytics, propensity modelling and POI’s unique customer data to enhance competitiveness, profitability and customer outcomes.

The Pricing Director is responsible for developing and embedding POI‑specific pricing capabilities, including the creation of a proprietary POI Score, designed to complement insurer net rate pricing and underwriting strategies; whilst supporting Consumer Duty, fair value and conduct risk expectations. The role works closely with Product, Proposition, Insurers and Product Governance to ensure pricing and commission structures balance commercial performance with customer fairness, affordability and long‑term value. What you’ll need to succeed: To be successful in this role you will have significant senior experience in pricing, analytics or commercial roles within insurance or financial services. You will demonstrate a deep expertise in insurance pricing, commissions and commercial optimisation. In addition to this you will have:

  • Advanced Analytical skills with strong capability in LTV modelling, propensity modelling and pricing optimisation techniques.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Insurance Economics, with a strong understanding of insurer net rates, underwriting, loss ratios and profit drivers.
  • Experience operating within regulated pricing and governance frameworks.
  • Strong experience working with insurers, actuarial teams and underwriting functions.
  • Proven track record of delivering pricing optimisation, margin improvement and commercial growth.
  • Knowledge of Consumer Duty & Fair Value with experience applying regulatory expectations to pricing and commission decisions.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Relevant professional qualifications preferred (e.g. actuarial, data science, economics, insurance or commercial qualifications).
