The Motor & Pet Pricing Analyst is responsible for optimising pricing performance across Motor and Pet products by enhancing insurer-provided net rates, through the intelligent application of enrichment factors, segmentation and portfolio insight. Working as part of the Pricing function, and in close partnership with Insurers, Product and Trading teams; the role ensures that Post Office Insurance (POI) pricing is competitive, commercially effective and aligned to Consumer Duty, Fair Value and PROD 4 requirements.

The analyst is accountable for translating data-driven insight into pricing actions that deliver profitable growth, appropriate conversion and sustainable value across acquisition and renewal journeys. What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Strong understanding of general insurance pricing fundamentals, particularly in Motor and/or Pet.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience handling large datasets.
  • Comfortable working with pricing, trading and MI tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, Python, BI tools).
  • Able to turn complex analysis into clear commercial insight.
  • Ability to balance competitive positioning with profitability and sustainability.
  • Working knowledge of FCA Consumer Duty, Fair Value principles and PROD 4 expectations.
  • Relevant experience in insurance pricing, analytics, trading or portfolio performance.
  • Degree‑level qualification in a quantitative or commercial discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics, economics, data science).
  • Experience supporting regulated governance processes is desirable.
