What to expect

As an IT Service Design and Transition Manager, you will join us on our journey to define, build, deliver and assure IT services are provided to the Post Office business that are aligned and deliver against the Post Office strategy, our IT Strategy and target operating model. You will be engaging with the wider Post Office business to manage the introduction of new and changed IT services, in a controlled way to ensure no impact on current operating principles or where change is expected manage the change to ensure no loss of current service operating quality. This role offers you a unique opportunity to assure and control the engagement/use of IT service capabilities in conjunction with the Service Providers and other stakeholders. You will also verify that the introduction of any new or changed Services in the live environment will not corrupt the defined IT operating model, are sustainable and have a suitable service wrap regardless of their size.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will be experienced in field service operations or retail technology deployment. As an IT Service Design and Transition Manager, you will have experience managing teams that support both operational service delivery and technology adoption in a retail or field service environment. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Project or programme management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification.
  • Experience in managing hyper-care or transitional support phases.
  • Data-driven decision-making with proficiency in reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience working with field service teams and supporting technology adoption at scale.
  • Experienced People Manager with proven experience collaborating with peers and senior managers, to contribute to the development of, and deliver, a functional strategy to achieve business objectives.
  • Substantial experience in establishing successful, cross-functional, stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
