What to expect:

Here at the Post Office, we’re steeped in tradition, but we’re going places. Supported by our network of depots and vehicles: Post Office’s Cash and Valuables in Transit division (CViT) collect & deliver cash, coin, and high value items 24 hours a day. As a Cash Carrying Crew member, you will be working in a security environment with the responsibility of delivering and collecting value items in a timely, safe, secure, and compliant way. You’ll be undertaking the truly valuable role of providing a high value delivery and collection service, across our corporate and retail functions. Working from a secure location, either independently or as part of a team, this role offers you the exciting opportunity to be the face of the Post Office; interacting with customers from both Post Office and external organisations.

What you’ll need to succeed:

You will be an experienced driver with a valid UK driving licence. Along with this, you will also:

  • Have previous experience in customer service, ideally with previous multi drop delivery experience
  • Possess first-class communication skills with the ability to be collaborative, adaptive to new processes and ways of working quickly and as required.
  • GCSE English (grade D +) or equivalent. (Applicants who are unable to provide evidence of qualification in English, will need to pass a written English assessment during the recruitment process.)
  • Ensure you drive in line with legal requirements when on the road, including proper use of a digital tachograph.
  • A current C1 licence and SIA licence would also be beneficial but not essential. (For compliance regulations you must hold a SIA licence before starting the role. This will be applied by the company, if you do not already hold one.)

Please note, this role requires you to work in a high security environment. If successful at interview, you can typically expect to have a waiting period of up to 12 weeks; while your application goes through our screening process (which includes 10 years referencing). Prior to submitting your application, please ensure your CV details all activity over the past 10 years including any gaps in employment, as this will significantly help speed up the recruitment process.
